Medical Affairs Team Lead – Spain (remote)

About the Job

We are seeking a dynamic leader with experience in line management and the ability to lead, motivate and inspire a team. In this role, you will provide overall medical leadership, working closely with the Spanish General Manager and EU Medical VP. You will act as a strategic partner to the Market Access/Commercial team, and other key local and regional functions to ensure the successful delivery of innovative product launches. You will support a growth-oriented strategy, drive external engagement, and oversee the execution of R&D programs. Location:

Remote, based in Spain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team in Spain.
  • Develop and execute medical strategies and engagement plans.
  • Drive strategic data gaps analysis and develop protocols for studies, publications, RWE and data dissemination.
  • Oversee clinical trial recruitment and daily team operations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and investigators.
  • Manage the medical budget and resources effectively.
  • Act as the main point of contact for external stakeholders in the territory.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and ethical standards.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Higher scientific qualification (e.g., MD, Pharmacist, Biologist, Natural Sciences, or PharmD).
  • 10+ years in the pharmaceutical industry, including oncology or hematology, with at least 5 years in medical affairs.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in line management.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Proficiency in Spanish and English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills.
  • High ethical standards, pro-active, and goal oriented.
  • Strong strategic thinking, scientific, and medical understanding within hematology/oncology.
